The Rabbinical College of Canada, also known as Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch of Montreal, is one of the leading institutions of higher Jewish education in Canada. Established in 1941, it played a crucial role in the expansion of Chabad-Lubavitch in North America, providing advanced Torah education and rabbinical training to students from across Canada and around the world.

Founding and Early Years
The college was founded under the guidance and directive of the Sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, and later strengthened by his successor, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. As part of the global network of Tomchei Temimim Yeshivos, which was originally established in Lubavitch (Russia) in 1897, the Montreal branch was created to meet the growing needs of Jewish education and spiritual leadership in North America.

During the early years, the institution was a beacon of Torah study at a time when Jewish communities in Canada were still developing their educational infrastructure. Many of the early students were immigrants from the soviet union or children of Holocaust survivors, who found in the yeshiva not only a place of learning but also a warm and nurturing environment.
